Why
It matters...
I’m choosing to build SPIN™ in order to raise money for a variety of charitable organizations. Most of us can identify a few very large philanthropies but often forget about the smaller, less marketed charities that are doing equally needed work for underserved communities. Through the creation of a game, we can collectively have fun while helping those in need.
On another level, I philosophically believe that it is not a government’s job to do everything for its people. I’m out to prove that people can come together and contribute to make tough problems something that can be managed and overcome with dedication and planning. Philanthropy can make a huge impact when everybody plays together.
In the long-term, I’d like to provide housing for the homeless and create a structured path to support the food, housing, health, education, job and documentation needs of impoverished immigrants seeking a legal way to pursue their dreams. These are lofty goals, for sure, but obtainable for someone willing to give away a great deal of money and not ask for anything in return.
So, near-term, I’m going to give away 88% of profit to charities and, longer term, I’m going to put chunks of assets in place to give others a chance they wouldn’t otherwise have.
Why? That’s just how I SPIN™, baby!
